A Taste of History Music Festival with special music guest, ENTYCE!

7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Kollen Park (240 Kollen Park Drive, Holland, MI 49423).

Juneteenth is a holiday that commemorates the day in 1865 when the enslaved people of Texas finally learned that slavery had been abolished and that they were free. While Michigan recognized Juneteenth as a holiday in 2005, we in Holland have been celebrating the history of Juneteenth since 2000!

I AM Academy is hosting the Juneteenth Freedom Festival.  All funds raised will help continue the work of providing representation, mentorship, and opportunities for our Black Youth in the West Michigan area.

Last year I AM Academy hosted more than 500 people at their first ever Juneteenth Freedom Festival. This year we are anticipating to host double that amount with more than 70 vendors. Delicious food will be available for purchase from local businesses like DaKidds BBQ and a kids area with crafts and inflatables to name just a few things to look forward to.  We are planning to follow the latest CDC masking guidelines and will keep you updated each month as more fun is planned for this day of celebration!!
